About Us
Founded in 1971, House By the Side of the Road in Wilton, is southern NH’s premier garden center, offering an exceptional selection of houseplants, cactus, orchids, succulents and tropicals. We also offer seasonal selections such as annuals, perennials, bedding plants, trees and shrubs.
Browse our sprawling greenhouses, unique fairy gardens, and an expansive gift shop full of pottery, planters, bird feeders, puzzles, gifts and more.
Cut flowers and seasonal decorations are designed in house by our talented staff. Professional plant advice ensures you find the perfect addition to your home or garden.

Superior service, amazing selection. The staff here is amazingly friendly. Helped me find a perfect anniversary “plant”, assisted in potting the plant in my ceramic pot of choice, added potting soil and didn’t charge an extra dime.
I tried to tip the amazing employees and it was refused. Good luck to the next person who found a surprise in the “leave a penny” jar.
We bought our best Christmas tree last year here too. Wasn’t cheap but was the best tree we’ve had in years. They wrapped it on site for transport too at no charge.
